What's it like working with Olsten? Can you really get
where you want to go? Well, don't take our word for it.
Listen to what current and former Olsten assignment
employees have to say:
Jeanie: Quick Steps
A recent college graduate, Jeanie very much wanted to get
a job at a leading agricultural technology in St. Louis. One problem: She knew she
didn't have all the technical experience that company required
before they would hire her full-time. Solution: She came to
Olsten. Now she on the assignment she wanted, working on crop
transformation.
"Olsten helped me get my foot in the door," she says. "I
don't know if I could have done it without them."
Kathy: Flexibility
Kathy is on assignment at a major copier Corporation in Denver,
working in the customer service department. As a mother of
three, she needs flexibility in her workday. And that's what
she has.
At this assignment, she is able to make her own schedule. "I have
the choice of working full time or part time," she says,
"and I work the hours of the day are best for me." She
is able to begin her day very early and leave the office
before the kids get home from school.
Kathy has turned down two full-time job opportunities
since she's been with Olsten because she doesn't want to
give up the flexibility Olsten offers.
Jill: New Town, Old Friend
Laid off from her previous job, Jill relocated to a new
town and went to Olsten for help in finding work.
"No matter where you go, Olsten is there and ready to
help," she says.
For over 18 months, Jill has been working for
Bristol-Myers Squibb as an administrative assistant.
Gary: Moving Up, Moving Fast
Bored with his full-time job and, feeling that he was
being held back from exploring new opportunities, Gary
decided to quit and join Olsten as a database administrator
with one of our partnership companies.
"That one move doubled my salary," he says. "Not only
that, I've expanded my skills in the past year by working
with the latest in software development technology."
After Gary got a good sense of what his opportunities
were, he accepted a full-time position as a team leader in
the information resource department of a large Milwaukee
utility.
Doug: Gone Fishin'
Doug works on assignments for Olsten because he wants
flexibility. "I want to be my own man. Do what I want to do,
when I want to do it," he says.
Doug works as an accountant in the winter, and fishes for
tuna during the summer off Montauk, Long Island.
"What's Olsten to me?" asks Doug, rubbing his chin. "It's
freedom."
Eleanor: 73 Years Young
A retired full-charge bookkeeper and office manager,
Eleanor looks forward to new challenges. "I'm going to keep
working as long as I can," she says, beaming.
Articulate and fit -- she works out several times each
week -- Eleanor only had one problem. "No computer skills,"
she says, with a shrug. No problem. She qualified for
training and Olsten is helping her upgrade her skills.
Eleanor works for Olsten one day a week at the Freudian
School of Psychology. The school staff likes her so much,
they specifically ask for her whenever they need help with
their books.
